Back in August, I was invited to participate in the Artists Drawing Club at The Asian Museum of Art in San Francisco. Titled “Rendition,” the event took place over the coarse of a day, where I proceeded to start and complete a drawing all in one sitting. The colors chosen for the drawing were inspired by works throughout the museum’s collection and for the visitors who came to view the live event, each was given color swatches, which matched the chosen tones in the drawing, to find in each of the museums galleries. This went on all the while I drew and watched for the #ColorMatch hashtag on Instagram and Twitter to see which pieces each visitor found. It was a fun experience as well as an intense one, but I’m thankful that I participated in it. I learned a great deal. Here is a documented video of the event in a sped-up, real time loop.
